Let's hope this post doesn't vanish

Let me start off by saying that I really wanted to get this post up last night, but couldn't because Blogger was down.  Please don't mistake this for an apology - Blogger is the one who owes an apology to everyone who uses the platform.  Having a post delayed is annoying, but it's really not that huge of a deal.

What is a big deal is the fact that I spent a LOT of time and energy on my last post.  It wasn't just a typical ol' outfit post, either.  I discussed struggling with fibromyalgia and the decision to go medicine free and improve the quality of my life by natural means.  It was cathartic to write and make the collages necessary for the post, and I also hoped it would inspire other people to dedicate themselves to taking care of their bodies.

Now, the post has vanished, and I am very, very disappointed.  I realize technology is imperfect and things go wrong, but that post truly was dear to my heart.  It took a lot of bravery on my part to share so much, and I felt such a relief when it was posted.  The fact that it's gone is extremely upsetting.  It wouldn't have bothered me so much if it was just a normal, everyday outfit post or something along those lines, but this particular post meant so much to me, and I really hoped it would reach out to my readers.

Who knows...maybe it will be recovered eventually.  One can only hope, right?

Update: Blogger put my post back up - woohoo!

On a different note, I am finally starting to feel better from medicine detoxing - not perfect, but much, much better.  I also finished my last final paper yesterday, which marked the end of the spring semester.  Whew!  I did more writing this semester than ever before...and I feel like I say that every semester!  Luckily, writing has never bothered me - I actually made the decision to attend grad school partly based on the fact that my writing is so strong and comes so easy to me.  Why not get another degree in a writing-intensive program?  :)

I am relieved to have some down time, though.  Caleb and I will be going on a much needed vacation in a week and a half, and, later this summer, my family is taking my niece to Disney World for her golden birthday.  I'm taking a summer class starting mid-July, but I have a lot to look forward to before then!

To kick off my summer break, Caleb and I went on a date.  I love dates!  We went to Greenz in Uptown for the first time, and I really liked it.  I had the buffalo chicken salad - yum!!  Afterward, we drove around the beautiful SMU campus and drove through the University Park neighborhood that's filled with stunning homes. It's nice just to look at pretty things sometimes.

I wore the paper bag skirt that I got on sale for $20 at Urban Outfitters for the first time, and I love it!  I'm extremely high-waisted and my proportions are pretty ridiculous, so it's hard to find the perfect fit in the waist.  (When I worked as a performer at Sea World, the seamstress making my costume kept re-checking my measurements because she was so surprised by my proportions!  Then she said, "Well, big hips are a good thing."  lol!)  The skirt's a little big around the waist, but I'm hoping a good stint in the dryer will cure that.  If not, I'll still love it!
