Juxtaposition

I love fashion.  It's just so fun to play around with!

I was still gravitating toward really feminine pieces like my super springy outfit, but I decided to switch it up.  I couldn't resist this lacy blouse, but instead of wearing it as feminine as possible (which wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary for me), I decided to add a little bit of edge to it.

To juxtapose the femininity of the top, I added some harder, masculine details.  My boots are super structured, and I did my eye makeup harsher than usual.  I think the necklace (which I made) did a good job of balancing the two elements.  The angles of the diamond pendant are consistent with the more structured elements, and the dangling chains soften it up a bit.

While this might not be the way I'd usually style a frilly, lacy top, I enjoyed playing around today and really liked the final product.  Do you think it worked?  How should I style it next?

I really am a sucker for a June cameo.

@Kenziefaith
Thanks! A lot of time went into measuring and cutting the chains for the tassels, so I appreciated it!

I love that lacey top. I have been on the prowl for something good and lacy because my wardrobe is lacking that texture. Looks great.

outfits of juxtaposition are always the best - in my opinion! i love the lace with the black bottom - it's still feminine, but with an edge! you look great!

Heehee - we're both wearing lacy tops today. Must be due to the gorgeous weather Dallas has been having! I love how you mixed soft and tough elements in this outfit. It really looks great.

Thanks so much, Linley! I usually tend to go one way or the other, so it's fun to mix it up every now and then.
