Add these to your rule book...

Today was pretty uneventful.  The hubby had the day off, so we did get to snuggle-bug. <3  And he told me I looked comfortable-chic today.  He's so cute!

Besides that, I made return trips to Hobby Lobby and TJ Maxx.  I went to Hobby Lobby to buy a few more supplies for my upcoming, shall we say, business venture.  (That's more info than you got last time!)  Get excited!

As far as TJ Maxx goes, I went to return a pair of jeggings I bought the other day.  I thought they would work out, but when I got home and tried them on, I realized they definitely were not going to work.  I'll proceed by explaining with the following:

Rule 1 of the day:
If you have disproportionately large sized hips in comparison to your waist, you should not wear jeggings.  I happen to fall into this category, and I speak from my short lived experience.  While trying them on for a few moments in the dressing room, I thought they were great.  Super comfy, fit well, etc., etc.  However, when I tried them on the next day and started walking around the apartment, they started to get a little funky.  Before I knew it, they were riding up, and my crotch was exhibiting an extreme fashion blunder: camel toe.  Not good!  They just kept hugging in all the wrong spots...not a pretty sight.  This leads me to:

Rule 2 of the day:
Always, ALWAYS leave your tags on your new clothes when you hang them in your closet, and leave them there until you've tried the garment on a second time.  Also, save your receipts!  That way you have the option of returning the item if you are not satisfied.  Since I have an hourglass shape on steroids, I've learned this.  You see, when your standing in a dressing room, you don't really get the chance to move around and see how a garment moves with your body (hence the jeggings incident).  Leave the tags on, and roam around your place for a little bit to make sure the garment is as comfortable, well-fitting, flattering, good looking, and practical as you thought it was in the store.  There's been many a time when I thought, "This dress is a little short, but it should be okay."  Then I'd get home and it would ride straight up my booty.  It's important to make sure clothes work as well in your everyday life as they do in front of the trickster dressing room mirror.

I hope these little rules are helpful.

On the upside, I did snag a three pack of Betsey Johnson tights for $10 during my return trip to TJ Maxx.  Steal!  (And at least my crotch will be hidden if it gives birth to another camel toe blunder.)

Do you have an unusual fashion rule you'd like to share?  I'd love to hear it!

I wish we would have TJ Maxx in Germany ;) Because I loved to shop there when I was in the US. Still have a really great Ralph Lauren blouse which I found there for only $20 I think. Great deal!!! :)
